Sexual abuse of children is a topic that is still taboo in India. Yet, according to a 2007 study by UNICEF and the Indian government, every second child is being subjected to one or more forms of sexual abuse. Across the country, every fifth child faces severe sexual abuse. Sexual violence is commonly perpetrated by someone known to the child. Most children do not report the matter to anyone. Often children do not even realize that they are being abused. A conspiracy of silence prevails around the issue which tacitly encourages abuse. This project is an attempt to give voice to such survivors and empower young parents with information so that the mistakes of previous generations are not repeated.
